The organisers of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 made their schedule public on Sunday. On March 22, the reigning champion Kolkata Knight Riders will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The home of the 2024 champions will host the final on May 25.

The BCCI announced that 74 matches would be played at 13 locations throughout India. As early as the second day of the  Indian Premier League 2025, the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will square off. On March 23, the SunRisers Hyderabad, the finalists from the previous year, will play the Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad.

The Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals will play some of their home games in Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, and Dharamsala in addition to the cities of the ten teams.

Two matches between the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been scheduled by the BCCI to guarantee that there will be plenty of excitement.

Hyderabad and Kolkata will host the playoffs after the league stage concludes on May 18. Hyderabad will host the first qualifier and eliminator, while Kolkata will host the second qualifier and final.

IPL 2025 Schedule: Teams and Groups

Every team in the Indian Premier League 2025 will play twice against the teams in their group and once against the majority of the other groups, with the exception of one opponent, whom they will play twice.

At the conclusion of the league stage, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The top two teams will play in Qualifier 1 in Hyderabad on May 20. The victor will go straight to the final in Kolkata on May 25.

In the Eliminator, the third and fourth-place teams will compete. In order to determine the second finalist, the victor of this match will next play the loser of Qualifier 1.

Match Timings and Double-Headers: When to Watch IPL 2025?

At Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the Kolkata Knight Riders will play the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening game of the IPL 2025 season on March 22, 2025. 

With 74 matches in all, the tournament is expected to end on May 25, 2025, with the final.
