The 38-year-old Rohit went on the attack from the very start, reaching his century in just 62 balls with the help of eight fours and eight sixes. This was his second century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and his fastest century in List A cricket.

Rohit completed 150 runs in 91 balls in Jaipur, including 18 fours and 9 sixes. Rohit, known for his spectacular centuries in ODIs over the past decade, crossed the 150-run mark in a 50-over innings for the first time since scoring 159 against West Indies at the end of 2019. He was eventually dismissed for 155, having hit 18 fours and 9 sixes.

Rohit Sharma last played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the 2018-19 season, specifically in the semi-final. The Mumbai stalwart participated in the quarter-final and semi-final matches against Bihar and Hyderabad, respectively, both of which his team won comfortably. Rohit scored a total of 49 runs in these two matches, remaining unbeaten on 32 against Bihar.

Century after 17 years

His only previous century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy came in 2008 against Tamil Nadu, when he scored 100 runs off 89 balls. In his 19-year List A career, Rohit has played 19 matches for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
