Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Indian team in the upcoming mega-event, while Axar Patel has been appointed as the vice-captain. Shubman Gill did not make it to the squad. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held from February 7 to March 20, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

In the upcoming T20 World Cup, the Indian team has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, the United States (USA), Namibia, and the Netherlands. All four of India's group matches will be played at different venues. The Indian team will play its first match against the USA on February 7th at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They will then face Namibia on February 12th at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Following this, the Indian team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15th at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India's final group match is scheduled against the Netherlands on February 18th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
