Today, Mahashivratri is being celebrated with great pomp and show across the country. Devotees are worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on this auspicious occasion. An estimated 1 million devotees are expected to arrive at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, where Mahakal is decorated like a groom.

The festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated across the country today, Sunday, February 15th. On this holy day, people are worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Rudrabhishekam of Lord Shiva is being performed in temples everywhere.

An estimated 1 million people are expected to visit Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple today on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Large numbers of people are also arriving at Kashi's Vishwanath Temple for darshan. Long lines of devotees have formed here since last night.

Mahakal becomes a groom in Ujjain

Mahakal has been decorated like a groom at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Three quintals of flowers have been brought for the deity's adornment.

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, there will be 44 hours of continuous darshan and worship. Due to the continuous darshan, there will be no Shayan Aarti. The Bhasma Aarti, which is performed once a year on Mahashivratri, will also take place on February 16th at 12 noon.

Mangala Aarti at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Mahashivratri is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in Varanasi. Everyone is immersed in the devotion of Lord Shiva. Mangala Aarti of Lord Vishweshwara was performed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

The Mangala Aarti was performed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple at 2:15 am, and the temple opened for darshan at 3:30 am.

Darshan of Somnath Jyotirlinga

The Mangala Shringar Aarti was also performed at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. Here, Lord Shiva was adorned with flowers.
