Virat Kohli-Gautam Gambhir Full Interview

Just before the start of the Bangladesh series, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir brought a blockbuster interview for the fans. BCCI shared the full video of this interesting interview of Indian team's star batsman Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir

In this 19-minute video, both the legends had fun, joked, and talked about some memorable moments and anecdotes of their careers. Gambhir started the discussion by talking about the main moments of Kohli's career, especially his brilliant performance in Australia. According to Gambhir, the best ODI innings was Virat's 183-run innings against Pakistan.

That innings of 183 runs against Pakistan...

Gambhir called Virat Kohli's 183-run match-winning innings against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup the best ODI innings played by any Indian. Gambhir said, 'I am not saying this because I am sitting here. I am calling it the best innings because of the kind of team, the kind of bowling, the kind of conditions, and playing such an innings against Pakistan while chasing a target of 300+ runs.

You did something very unique by doing this. Let me tell you that Virat single-handedly destroyed the bowling unit. This bowling unit included Wahab Riaz, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, and Shahid Afridi, all of whom were dangerous bowlers. Kohli scored a total of 183 runs in 148 balls, including 22 fours and 1 six, while chasing a target of 330 runs and India won this match by 6 wickets.

Discussion on memorable innings

Gautam Gambhir, while referring to Virat Kohli's memorable innings, said, 'I remember when you played a great series in Australia, in which you scored a lot of runs.' He compared it with his own experience while recalling a great Test innings in Napier. Gambhir said, 'For me, when I played in Napier, it was exactly like that... After that I have never been in that zone in my life. So I can imagine how good it feels to be in that zone (great form).'

Kohli asked this question

Kohli, in his response, focused on how external factors such as interaction with the opposition can affect a player's mindset. Virat asked Gambhir if interacting with the opposition has ever distracted him or, on the contrary, has it ever motivated him. Kohli said, 'When you are batting and you have a little conversation with the opposition, do you ever feel that it will distract you from your focus and potentially get you out or will it motivate you more?'

'You have more controversies than me...'

Gambhir, while highlighting Kohli's frequent fights on the field, jokingly said, 'You have had more fights than me. You can answer this question better than me.' Both of them laughed and talked on this topic. Kohli further said on this, 'I am looking for someone who agrees with my opinion. I am not saying that this is wrong.

I am looking for someone who says, 'Yes, this is the right way.' Gambhir then said, 'We have come a long way and we are ending all the spices.' Let us tell you that there have been many arguments and small disputes between these two stars in the past. However, it became clear from this conversation that now there is nothing like that between the two.
