Microsoft makes significant announcements about Bing and Copilot during the Surface and AI event; all details are available here.
Microsoft has announced that Copilot will be available for free to Windows 11 users beginning September 26. In addition, the business made special announcements on Bing AI and Surface devices.
For years, science fiction films and web series have captivated us with the concept of AI-powered virtual assistants. Whether it's the figure of HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey or the AI chatbot Samantha in the 2013 film Her, the idea of AI helpers has become fairly popular. And Microsoft is getting closer to making this a reality. During its Surface and AI event, Microsoft unveiled Microsoft Copilot, which would be available for Windows 11 customers soon.
Copilot will assist users with a variety of activities and will be accessible either as a standalone app or by right-click. Microsoft also made a special revelation about their AI-powered Bing during the September 21 event in New York City. The Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Laptop Studio 2 were also introduced.
Copilot will be available for Windows 11 users soon
Microsoft stated that Copilot would be available for free to all Windows 11 users beginning September 26.
"Copilot will begin to roll out in its early form as part of our free update to Windows 11, starting Sept. 26 — and across Bing, Edge, and Microsoft 365 Copilot this fall," the firm said in a blog post.
"Copilot enables you to create faster, complete tasks with ease, and reduce your cognitive load, making previously complex tasks simple." "We've made it easy to access the power of Copilot because it's always right there for you on the taskbar or with the Win+C keyboard shortcut, providing assistance alongside all your apps on all screen sizes at work, school, or at home," the company said. Copilot will also help you when you purchase online because it is a component of Bing and Edge.
Microsoft also discussed the future Windows 11 release, calling it their ' most ambitious' version to date. AI elements will also be added to other Microsoft programs, including Paint, Photos, Clipchamp, and others.
For example, the Paint app will have the ability to generate AI on its own, but the new Notepad will automatically preserve your work so that you can pick up where you left off whenever you choose. Notepad will also restore previously opened tabs, as well as unsaved material and modifications across those tabs. Aside from that, AI will assist you in editing photographs in the photographs app, and the snipping tool now includes additional options to capture screenshots.
About AI-powered Bing and Dall-E 3
OpenAI recently released a new version of Dall-E, an image-generating tool that allows Microsoft's Bing AI to generate pictures from text prompts. The same technique, known as Dall—E 3, will be utilized by Bing in the future to produce more exact and accurate photographs.
Additionally, photos generated by Bing will be watermarked with the date and time the image was originally made.
"Bing will add support for the latest DALL.E 3 model from OpenAI and deliver more personalized answers based on your search history, a new AI-powered shopping experience, and updates to Bing Chat Enterprise, making it more mobile and visual," the firm said in a blog post.

Microsoft also unveiled the Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Laptop Studio 2 at the event.
