The Sierra's 2.0-liter naturally aspirated 483 DL diesel engine, which produced 68 horsepower, was used in its initial release. But in 1997, the SUV's second generation was introduced with a turbocharged variant (483 DLTC), which increased power output to roughly 87 horsepower. In October, Tata Motors Ltd. reported 37,530 units of commercial vehicles sold, up 10% from 34,259 units in the same month the previous year. According to a statement from Tata Motors Ltd., domestic sales of commercial vehicles increased by 7% to 35,108 units last month from 32,708 units in October 2024.
Tata's impressive performance in October comes after a significant realignment in the fiercely competitive race for second place in September 2025, when it registered 40,594 units to surpass Mahindra's 37,015 units and Hyundai's 35,443 units. The triumph in September was especially noteworthy because it put an end to a volatile pattern that had plagued the automaker for a large portion of 2025.
