Tata Sierra unveiled India’s top automaker brings back its first-ever SUV in a revamped avatar
The Sierra's 2.0-liter naturally aspirated 483 DL diesel engine, which produced 68 horsepower, was used in its initial release. But in 1997, the SUV's second generation was introduced with a turbocharged variant (483 DLTC), which increased power output to roughly 87 horsepower. There was just one 5-speed manual gearbox available for both engines.
After a three-decade break, the famous Tata Sierra, a boxy, bold beauty from the 1990s that once dominated Indian roads, is making a spectacular return. Tata revealed the SUV's initial appearance in Mumbai on Saturday, ahead of its official debut.
