During a press conference, Naqvi stated, "We are in contact with the BCCI Secretary; the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan." He said, "[We] also communicate with the boards of the teams that are playing for the Champions Trophy." The 2023 Asia Cup was co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka under a hybrid format since India had not before been to the bordering nation for the event.
PCB has suggested that the Champions Trophy 2025 be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between February 19 and March 5. PCB is currently renovating the stadium for this event. By September 30, work on the Gaddafi Stadium basement will be completed. Three weeks will be allotted to finishing each floor. The building at the front would be made of steel. By December 31, the Gaddafi Stadium's main structure will be finished, according to Naqvi.
"The seats will be erected in the stadium prior to the Champions Trophy; Pindi Stadium will need to be fully destroyed and rebuilt. "The Champions Trophy will take place before the renovations at Karachi's [National Stadium] are finished," he said.
Former Pakistan players have criticized the infrastructure of the stadiums. In fact, Naqvi himself admitted this: "If you look at the stadiums around the world, there is a huge difference between our stadium and the stadiums around the world. None of them qualify as an international stadium," during a press meet.
There were not enough seats in the bathrooms and the view looked like you were watching from 500 meters away,” he said in response to a reporter's question about the need to upgrade the seating capacity and infrastructure in stadiums.
