Previously, the Indian women's cricket team was awarded a separate prize money of 51 crore rupees by the BCCI. Furthermore, after winning the title, the Indian team received a prize money of 4.48 million US dollars (39.77 crore rupees) from the ICC. This amount was even more than the men's World Cup winners.
Not only this, each team playing in the World Cup was also given a separate 2.5 lakh US dollars (2.20 crore rupees). While the reward for winning a match was 30 lakh rupees.
