TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 is set to begin today, Friday, February 14, 2025. Cricket fans are excited as the third season of this women's T20 tournament starts. The league will feature five teams competing over a month. Matches will be held in Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai.

Teams and Captains
The five teams participating in TATA WPL 2025 are:
- Delhi Capitals: Led by Meg Lanning.
- Gujarat Giants: Captained by Beth Mooney.
- Mumbai Indians: Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur.
- Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Led by Smriti Mandhana.
- UP Warriorz: Initially captained by Alyssa Healy, but due to her injury, Deepti Sharma has taken over as captain.
Tournament Format
The format will be double round-robin, with each team playing the other two times. This means every team will have eight matches in the league stage. The top team will directly qualify for the final. The second and third-placed teams will compete in an Eliminator match to decide the other finalist.
Match Venues and Schedule
The tournament will be hosted across four cities:
- Vadodara: BCA Stadium will host the initial six matches.
- Bengaluru: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will host the next eight matches.
- Lucknow: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium will host four matches.
- Mumbai: Brabourne Stadium will host the final two league matches, the Eliminator, and the Final.

Tickets for the matches in Vadodara and Bengaluru went on sale on January 31, 2025. Fans can purchase tickets through the official WPL website, the WPL App (available on Android and iOS), and the BookMyShow platform.
Broadcast and Streaming
For those unable to attend the matches in person, live broadcasts will be available on Sports18 channels. Additionally, matches will be streamed live on the JioCinema app and website, allowing fans to watch the games from the comfort of their homes.
Player Auction and Team Preparations
The player auction for WPL 2025 was held on December 15, 2024, in Bengaluru. A total of 120 players were up for auction, with 91 Indian and 29 overseas players. Teams have strengthened their squads, aiming for a competitive edge in this season.
