Harvinder Singh Wins Gold Medal in Archery Paralympics 2024: Harvinder Singh has won the gold medal in Men's Recurve Archery. He easily defeated Poland's Lukas Cijek 6-0 in the final. This is the 22nd medal overall and the fourth gold at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. The Indian athlete created history by winning the match in straight sets 28-24, 28-27, 29-25.
In the history of the Paralympics, Harvinder Singh is now the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in an archery discipline. In the Tokyo Paralympics, he had previously set a new record as well. He was the first archer from India to win a bronze medal at the Paralympics at that point. Let us tell you that this is India's second medal in archery at the Paris Paralympics. Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi previously took home a bronze in mixed-team compound archery.
Harvinder can win one more medal now
Harvinder Singh can also win his third medal in the history of Paralympics. He will now compete for the medal in the mixed team event of recurve archery along with Pooja Jatayan. His first match in the team competition will be against the Australian team on September 5. Harvinder will be the first Indian athlete in history to win two gold medals in a single competition if he goes for the gold in that event as well Paralympic sport.
