BCCI finally took a big step in the wake of the devastating loss in the 5-match Test series on the Australia tour, enacting ten new regulations for the players, one of which requires all players to play domestic cricket.

News about the form and lack of discipline of many players was all over the place after the Indian team lost the 5-match Test series in Australia 3-1. The BCCI has now made a tough decision and put ten new rules into effect after evaluating the team's subpar performance on this tour. No player will be permitted to bring his personal staff on international tours, even though it is now required for all players to play domestic cricket. The BCCI has also made it clear that any player who disregards these new guidelines will be subject to disciplinary action. This includes a ban from participating in the IPL and a decrease in the fees associated with their central contract.
BCCI implemented these 10 new rules for players (Indian men's team)
Wife or family will now be allowed to stay with the team for only 2 weeks on foreign tours
On the foreign tours of the Indian team, the family or wife of the players will be allowed to stay with the team for only 2 weeks. Apart from this, there will be no permission to take personal staff along. This rule will apply to all the people including the coach and support staff along with the players. In addition, during the tours, no player will be permitted to travel alone with his family. He will go from the hotel to the stadium with the team on the day of the match along with the practice session. If any player wants exemption from this, then he will have to take approval from the chairman of the selection committee and the head coach.
It is mandatory for all players to play domestic matches
According to the new guidelines of BCCI, it will be mandatory for players to participate in domestic matches to get selected in the national team and remain in the central contract. This will help all players maintain their match fitness and also strengthen their game. Apart from this, young players will also get a chance to learn a lot from them. Exemption from this rule will be given only in some special reasons, for which approval has to be taken from the head coach and the chairman of the selection committee.
All players will have to stay in the practice session
Now all the players will have to stay in the practice session for the full time period of the prescribed practice session. Under this rule, now no player can leave the field after completing his practice.
There will be no exemption to carry extra luggage
Now all the players will not be allowed to carry extra luggage in foreign tours and series to be held in the country, in which they will have to follow the limit set by the BCCI. If a player goes with extra luggage, then he will have to bear his own expenses.
Ban imposed on taking personal staff
There were reports about some players of Team India that they take their personal staff with them, now BCCI has completely banned this as well, in which they have completely banned taking personal manager, chef, assistant and personal security personnel.
Players will have to inform the team management before sending anything to the Center of Excellence
Players will now have to inform the team management before sending a separate bag or any kind of equipment and personal items to the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Any additional cost incurred due to different arrangements will be the responsibility of the player.
Players will not be able to shoot advertisements during the series
Now no player of the Indian team will be able to shoot advertisements in the middle of any series. BCCI has also made it clear about this with its new rule. This rule has been implemented so that the players' focus remains only on that series or tour.
Travel plan policy with family
The Travel Plan Policy with Family has been implemented for the players, which ensures a balance between player and team commitments.
Compulsory to participate in official BCCI events
Now it will be mandatory for all players to participate in official shoots and events of BCCI. This participation is necessary to maintain BCCI's commitments to stakeholders and to promote the game effectively.
Players will be allowed to return home only after the series is over
Now no player will be allowed to return home early after the end of any match or series under the new rules, they will have to return after the tour is over, even if the match ends before the scheduled time.
