Chasing a target of 299 runs for Delhi, Kohli completed 16,000 runs with his very first run of the innings. This was his 343rd List A match. With this achievement, he became the ninth batsman in the world to reach this milestone.
The list includes Graham Gooch, Graham Hick, Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Sir Vivian Richards, Ricky Ponting, Gordon Greenidge, and Sanath Jayasuriya.
However, among all the players who have scored more than 16,000 List A runs, Virat Kohli has the best average. His average is 57.34.
Made his domestic debut in 2006
Kohli made his List A debut for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy One-Day tournament at the Feroz Shah Kotla in February 2006, although he didn't get a chance to bat in that match. Nearly two decades later, the 50-over format continues to be his most successful.

Former Indian captain Kohli, who has retired from T20 Internationals and Test cricket, had already confirmed his availability to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season.

He entered the tournament after a stellar performance in the home ODI series against South Africa, where he scored 135, 102, and an unbeaten 65 runs, winning the Player of the Series award.
Despite playing limited matches in domestic cricket due to international commitments, Kohli's statistics in the 50-over format are incredibly impressive. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the history of ODI cricket, behind only Sachin Tendulkar.
In 308 ODIs, Kohli has scored 14,557 runs at an average of 58.46 and holds the record for the most centuries in this format with 53. He is also the fastest batsman to reach 14,000 ODI runs.
In domestic 50-over cricket, Virat Kohli has played 16 matches for Delhi, scoring 910 runs at an average of 60.66. This includes four centuries and four half-centuries.
His last appearance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was in the 2010-11 season, where he also captained Delhi. He later represented Delhi in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy in 2013-14, where the team finished as runners-up.
Although Virat Kohli has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar in terms of ODI centuries, Tendulkar still holds the record for the most centuries in List A cricket. He scored 60 centuries while accumulating 21,999 runs, while Kohli is close behind with 57 centuries.
