The term of the current ICC Chairman Greg Barclay will end on November 30. Recently Barclay refused a third term. Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah has created history. He has become the youngest ICC chairman. Jay Shah will replace Greg Barclay. The current ICC Chairman Greg Barclay, will resign from his post on 30 November.

Recently, Barclay had refused a third term. In such a situation, now Jay Shah (Jay Shah ICC New Chairman) has been elected as the new chairman of ICC (ICC Chairman Election). 

Jay Shah is currently 35 years old

Jay Shah is currently 35 years old. He is the 5th Indian to become the President of ICC. Earlier, Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, and Shashank Manohar have been the Chairman of ICC. In 1997, Jagmohan Dalmiya was chosen to serve as the first Asian president of the ICC.

ICC was presided over by Sharad Pawar between 2010 and 2012. Chennai Super Kings team co-owner N Srinivasan has also been the President of ICC. He played the role of President of ICC from 2014 to 2015. Shashank Manohar was the President of ICC from 2015 to 2020.

Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the next independent chairman of the ICC. Shah has served as BCCI secretary since October 2019 and as Asian Cricket Council president since January 2021. He will assume the chairmanship on December 1, 2024. Shah was the only nominee for the post of president after current chairman Greg Barclay decided not to seek a third term.

Shah said, "I am overwhelmed by the nomination as the President of the International Cricket Council." He said, "I am committed to working closely with the ICC team and our member countries to further globalize cricket. We stand at a critical juncture where it has become increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies and introduce our flagship events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more popular than ever."
