Batting first, South Africa were restricted to 117 runs in 20 overs. In reply, India chased down the target in 15.5 overs. With this victory, India has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Arshdeep delivers the first blow
South Africa, batting first after losing the toss, had a very poor start. Bowler Arshdeep gave India success in the very first over. He dismissed South Africa's Reeza Hendricks LBW on the fourth ball. However, the on-field umpire ignored the players' appeal. India then took a review, and Reeza had to return to the pavilion. Reeza failed to score any runs.
De Kock dismissed cheaply
India got their second major breakthrough in the form of Quinton de Kock. He was dismissed LBW by Harshit Rana on the second ball of the second over. De Kock had played an explosive innings of 90 runs in the second match of the series, but could only manage one run in this match. South Africa's third wicket fell in the form of Brevis (2). He was bowled out by Harshit on the first ball of the fourth over.
Hardik completes 100 wickets
The aggression of the Indian bowlers did not stop there, and shortly after, Hardik Pandya gave India their fourth success by having Stubbs (9) caught by Jitesh. With this, Hardik completed 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. He became the first fast-bowling all-rounder to take 100 wickets and score more than 1000 runs in T20 Internationals.

Then Shivam Dube came on and immediately bowled Corbin Bosch. Bosch returned after scoring 4 runs off 9 balls. Thus, half of the South African team was back in the pavilion at a score of 67 runs. The sixth blow to the South African team was given by Varun, who bowled Donovan Ferreira. After that, the remaining batsmen could not stay on the pitch for long, and thus the entire South African team could only manage 117 runs.
Captain scores a half-century
Captain Aiden Markram played the highest innings of 61 runs. Marco Jansen scored 2, Anrich Nortje 12, and Ottniel Baartman 1 run. For India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube got one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 118 runs, the Indian team got off to a flying start thanks to the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. Both batsmen started hitting big shots from the very beginning. They added 60 runs in just 32 balls. India lost their first wicket in the last over of the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma, who was batting aggressively, was caught out. He scored 35 runs off 18 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Gill Plays a Slow Innings
Tilak Varma, coming in at number 3, steadied the innings with Gill. The duo added 32 runs for the second wicket in 38 balls. In the 12th over, Gill was run out while attempting to steal a single. He played a slow innings of 28 runs off 28 balls. Marco Jansen claimed the wicket. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also couldn't remain unbeaten till the end of the match. He faced 11 balls and scored 12 runs with the help of 2 fours.
