Team India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the match played in Dubai and started their campaign with a brilliant win in the Champions Trophy. Young opener Shubman Gill played an important role in India's victory.
Gill played a brilliant innings and achieved the great feat of scoring a century for India in the second consecutive ODI. Gill scored the 8th century of his ODI career. He completed his century in 125 balls with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes. Earlier, Gill also scored a century in the third match of the ODI series against England.
Shami did wonders in bowling
The Bangladesh team, which won the toss and came to bat first, had a very disappointing start. 5 batsmen of the team returned to the pavilion within just 35 runs. After this, there was a record partnership of 154 runs for the sixth wicket between Jaker Ali and Tauheed Hridoy, due to which the Bangladesh team managed to score 228 runs. Jaker Ali played an innings of 68 runs.

Gill returned unbeaten after scoring a century
In response to Bangladesh's 228 runs, India had a great start. Team India scored 69 runs on the scoreboard after losing 1 wicket in 10 overs. Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 41 runs. After this, Virat Kohli came to the crease, who returned to the pavilion after scoring just 22 runs. In the middle order, Shreyas Iyer (15) and Axar Patel (8) could not do anything special and were dismissed cheaply.
During this, Gill stood firm at the other end and then, along with KL Rahul, made a partnership of 87 runs and gave Team India the victory. KL Rahul played an unbeaten inning of 41 runs. KL hit 1 four and 2 sixes in his inning. Gill returned unbeaten after scoring 101 runs off 129 balls. With this win, Team India has 2 points in its account. Now Team India will face Pakistan in its second match. This match will be played in Dubai on 23 February.
