Abhishek Sharma has created a new history in IPL. Abhishek scored a stormy century in 40 balls and then created a new record as soon as he reached a personal score of 132 runs.

In the 27th match of IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma wreaked havoc with the bat. Chasing a target of over 200 runs, Abhishek Sharma along with Travis Head thrashed the bowlers of Punjab Kings. Both the openers dominated the bowlers of Punjab Kings from the very first over. 

Abhishek and Head put 60 runs on the scoreboard in 4 overs. After this, the score reached 83 runs by the end of the powerplay. In the very next over, Abhishek Sharma managed to complete his half-century off 19 balls.

Abhishek Sharma hit a stormy century

By the end of 10 overs, SRH's score was 143 runs and Abhishek Sharma reached a personal score of 87 runs in 32 balls. Just 2 overs after this, Abhishek hit a century in 40 balls in the 13th over. He completed his century with the help of 6 sixes and 11 fours and celebrated the century in a great style.

After completing the century, Abhishek shouted loudly and celebrated the century. He also took out a paper from his pocket and showed it by turning around. Some message was written on this paper. After this, Punjab captain Shreyas took that paper and read what was written in it.

Abhishek became the third-fastest Indian batsman to score a century in IPL. Even after scoring a century, Abhishek Sharma's bat continued to pour runs and soon he reached a personal score of 132 runs. In this way, he became the Indian batsman to score the highest score in IPL.

Earlier this record was in the name of KL Rahul. KL was the Indian batsman to play the biggest innings with 131 runs. Now this record has been made by Abhishek Sharma. He has become the batsman to play the third biggest innings in IPL after Chris Gayle (175*) and Brendon McCullum (158*).
