Tata Motors today launched the Nexon iCNG and it is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG vs Tata Nexon iCNG is India's first passenger vehicle (PV) with turbocharged CNG power.

Tata Nexon now comes in petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric versions with the introduction of the iCNG version. June of this year saw the 700,000-unit sales milestone for the Tata Nexon, which was first introduced in India in 2017.

Outselling the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Mahindra Scorpio, the Tata Nexon has been the best-selling SUV in India over the last three fiscals with 1,71,697 units sold in FY24, 1,72,139 units in FY23 and 1,24,130 units in FY22.

Tata Nexon iCNG is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged bi-fuel (petrol and CNG) engine that produces a maximum power of 100PS and a peak torque of 170Nm. Currently, there is only a manual gearbox option. However, an automatic option may also be added to the car in the future.

The SUV has a single ECU that allows for automatic switching between fuel and CNG, as well as direct start in CNG mode. The car is said to have a 60-liter CNG tank and 24 km/kg of mileage.

Features of the Tata Nexon iCNG include a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, leatherette ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment screen. Thanks to its twin-cylinder technology, the car has a segment-leading cargo space of 321 liters.

The Tata Nexon has a 5-star safety rating. It provides cutting-edge safety measures, including technological elements like rear impact protection, thermal incident protection, fire protection devices, and leak detection.
