What is PM Kisan?

An annual benefit of Rs 6,000 is distributed to all eligible beneficiaries under this scheme in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The money will go straight into the farmer's bank account. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme for qualified recipients, sending approximately Rs 22,000 crore straight to 9.8 crore farmers' bank accounts as part of the government's endeavour to increase farming communities' incomes.

Who is not eligible?

The following groups of beneficiaries with higher socioeconomic standing will not be able to receive benefits under the program.

  • All current or former officers and staff members of Central or State Government Ministries, Offices, Departments, and their field units, including Central or State PSEs, Attached Offices, and Autonomous Institutions under the Government, in addition to local body employees

  • Everyone who is retired or superannuated and whose pension is at least Rs. 10,000 per month

  • Every individual who paid income taxes during the previous assessment year

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared at a press conference in New Delhi that the Prime Minister would introduce the 19th installment at a function in Bhagalpur, Bihar, and that the money would be deposited straight into the bank accounts of the recipients.

When will the PM Kisan Yojana's 19th installment be paid out?

The 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, which will directly deposit around Rs 22,000 crore into the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers as part of the government's commitment to increase agricultural income, is scheduled to be disbursed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, February 24.

Additionally, Chouhan pointed out that the government has already paid out Rs 3.46 lakh crore under the PM-KISAN initiative, with the next installment release expected to bring the total to Rs 3.68 lakh crore.

Each eligible farmer is given ₹6,000 in aid annually under this program, which is paid out in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months.
