Delhi: Atishi may take oath as Chief Minister on September 21, LG sends proposal to President

Atishi Marlena did not ask for any date for taking the oath as Chief Minister. Therefore, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has proposed 21 September as the date for the swearing-in of the new Chief Minister. Atishi said that she will submit the names of her cabinet ministers later, which means that the cabinet has not been decided yet and it is quite likely that she will take oath alone.

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has sent the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the letter of Atishi staking claim to form a new government to the President. Let us tell you that Atishi did not ask for any date for the swearing-in of the Chief Minister, so the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has proposed 21 September as the date for the swearing-in of the new Chief Minister. Atishi said that she will submit the names of her cabinet ministers later, which means that the cabinet has not been decided yet and there is every possibility that she will take oath alone.

Atishi will have to hit the ground running to speed up the government's work and ensure that key projects and schemes are back on track in view of the assembly elections in February. Arvind Kejriwal's five-month imprisonment has affected the AAP government's work. Lack of funds has disrupted work related to essential services and infrastructure, including roads, sewers, water supply, and medicines in hospitals.

The biggest challenge is to implement the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana'

As Chief Minister, Atishi will have to deal with these issues and many other challenges during her short tenure. The biggest challenge before her is to implement the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' before the elections. Under this scheme, women above 18 years of age in Delhi will get an amount of Rs 1,000 every month. Atishi called Kejriwal her 'political guru' and thanked him for entrusting her with such a big responsibility as the post of Chief Minister. Atishi said that she will run the government under the guidance of Kejriwal.

Atishi said that she will protect the interests of the people of Delhi. She alleged that the BJP will try to obstruct the welfare schemes of the AAP government, like free electricity, water, medicine,, and free bus travel for women. Atishi would be responsible for two main objectives, according to Manish Sisodia, a former deputy chief minister and prominent AAP official. First, to protect the people of Delhi from the BJP's attempt to stop free electricity, education, and health services. And second, to make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister again with the help of two crore people of Delhi.

Manish Sisodia also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his post and accused him of hatching a 'despicable conspiracy' to send Kejriwal and other AAP leaders behind bars under false charges. Officials said that the major tasks that Atishi will face after becoming CM include the formation of a new cabinet, holding a meeting of NCCSA for Group A postings, restarting the doorstep delivery of services scheme, and approving Delhi EV Policy 2.0 and Solar Policy.

The most challenging task for Atishi will be to establish good relations with the LG office. Because LG's approval will be necessary for the welfare and development works of the Delhi government. With the new Chief Minister taking charge, many new initiatives can be seen in the coming weeks, including the launch of projects and schemes like Mohalla clinics and premium buses, and the inauguration of hospitals, schools, and flyovers.
