Nikocado Avocado goes viral after revealing he was 'two steps ahead'
A YouTube star secretly lost a significant amount of weight by playing pranks on the internet for two years.
Nicholas Perry, often known as Nikocado Avocado, is a well-known food content creator on YouTube with over 3.9 million subscribers. His videos include him and other people consuming copious amounts of food in a unique style known as "mukbang."
When Perry began posting videos on YouTube more than seven years ago, he was a noticeably smaller man — at least compared to his most recent video, which he posted just three months ago and in which he said he had "given up on my weight loss journey."
Perry, however, chose to play a blindfold on everyone and flaunted her new appearance in a video posted on September 7 that revealed she had dropped an incredible 17 stone (250 pounds) in a few of months.
The shocking video, titled 'Two Steps Ahead', which has been viewed over 3 million times at the time of writing, begins with Perry wearing a panda head and, staying in character, telling viewers: "I'm always two steps ahead."
He adds: "This has been the biggest social experiment of my entire life. It's worrying, it's compelling, it's fascinating to watch all these unwell, confused people roam the internet looking for stories, ideas, rivalries, where they feel encouraged, engaged."
Perry added that he has now woken up from a "very long dream" in which he "lost 250 pounds from his body."
However, in another video, uploaded on a different YouTube channel called 'Hi', Perry is seen getting a little friendly with his pet parrot, where he briefly explains how he performed the stunt.
Perry says that he hasn't developed a video in two years and is only uploading older pre-made content to keep his channel afloat while focussing on his health before diving into a huge plate of spicy cheese noodles.
Many viewers were taken aback by the plot surprise when Perry made her big disclosure, which has since gone viral. "He managed to play us like a violin, this redemption arc feels surreal," an admirer commented. "This feels almost not real."
Another wrote: "Nikokado Avocado, I respect you so much. You managed to troll the internet for 2 years."
