Manish Sisodia, Arvind Kejriwal's trusted No 2 in the Aam Aadmi Party, lost his Jangpura seat in the Delhi elections, according to TV screens. Former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas claimed that his wife started crying. Then, Mr. Vishwas clarified that it wasn't done out of pity for the AAP leader

"My wife, who is apolitical, started crying when we got the news of Manish (Sisodia) losing from Jangpura," said Mr. Vishwas, a poet and one of the original members of the AAP. Click here to view the Delhi Election Results 2025 LIVE UPDATES.

Mr. Vishwas recalled an old exchange in which he alluded to the conceit of the AAP leader: "My wife once told Mr. Sisodia, 'Bhaiya, you are not always going to be in power.' Manish Sisodia shot back, saying 'Abhi toh hai (I am in power today)."

Mr. Vishwas expressed his hope that other parties would take note of this and refrain from being conceited.

"I'm hoping that others won't act so haughtily. It will teach others and benefit them. Mr. Vishwas congratulated the Delhi residents.

Manish Sisodia, who was imprisoned in connection with the purported Delhi liquor policy scandal, lost his seat in Jungpura to Tarvinder Singh Marwah, a BJP candidate. From Patparganj, Mr. Sisodia had fought in 2020.

Arvind Kejriwal, a former party colleague who lost his seat in New Delhi to Parvesh Verma of the BJP, was the target of Kumar Vishwas' scathing remarks.

"Congratulations on the win, BJP. I hope they will work for Delhi's citizens. The man who dashed the hopes of AAP party members, Arvind Kejriwal, has no place in my heart. He's gone from Delhi now. He pursued his own goals by using those dreams. He's been punished by God. Mr. Vishwas declared, "Justice has been served today."

The'sheesh mahal', the ostensibly opulent residence that Arvind Kejriwal constructed for himself while serving as chief minister, has become the focal point of his attack by his detractors. Due to his suspected involvement in the Delhi liquor policy case, Mr. Kejriwal was arrested shortly before the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He was detained for five months before being granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court. Shortly after being granted bail, he resigned as chief minister in September 2024, saying he would not return to the position until he had received the Delhi people's certificate of honesty. Now, that possibility is ruled out.

Additionally, Mr. Vishwas emotionally appealed to AAP employees to take care of themselves.

"All of you have worked for someone who exploited his guru for his own gain and stabbed his friends in the back. "Go out and be careful," Mr. Vishwas advised.

The AAP has 22 seats, while the BJP has 48. In the assembly of 70 members, 36 is the majority mark. For the third election in a row, the Congress did not secure any seats in Delhi.
