The complete timetable for the 2024 Lok Sabha election was released on Saturday by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Starting on April 19, there will be 7 rounds of polling. Additionally, the dates for the elections to the assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, and Arunachal Pradesh have been declared.
The BJP easily returned to power in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, taking 303 seats, surpassing its 2014 total of 282 seats. Roughly 38% of the votes were cast for the BJP. The NDA, led by the BJP, received 353 votes. The number of seats in the Congress was whittled down to just 52. PM Modi has targeted around 400 seats for the NDA and 370 seats for the BJP this time.
The Congress gained the most seats in a Lok Sabha election to date in 1984 after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated. Along with almost 50% of the vote, the Congress secured 403 seats in the Lok Sabha.

On April 19, the Lok Sabha elections' first phase of voting will take place. In all, 21 states will host 102 Lok Sabha or parliamentary constituencies for the phase 1 elections.

On April 26, phase 2 polls for the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to take place. Phase 2 elections are scheduled to take place in 89 Lok Sabha or parliamentary constituencies across 13 states.
