The Women in Blue have the momentum to win the T20I series after their 2-1 victory. Nonetheless, the Twenty20 International series has made it abundantly evident that the visitors are more than capable of challenging India.

The captain Harmanpreet Kaur's availability for the opening ODI is in doubt. Due to a knee injury, Harmanpreet, 35, was unable to play in the series' second and final Twenty20 International. The hosts will be led by Smriti Mandhana if Harmanpreet is unable to recover her full number of fitness hours before the game begins.

For this series, India has selected Tanuja Kanwar and Pratika Rawal in place of bowling all-rounder Arundhati Reddy. Kanwar is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has played for India in four Twenty20 Internationals, while Rawal is a batter who plays domestic cricket for Delhi.
