Sachin Tendulkar's birthday: Sachin Tendulkar turned 51 on April 24, 2024. Sachin, who is sometimes referred to as the "God of Cricket," is arguably the best hitter to have ever played the game. But the nickname originates with his followers, who also refer to him as "Master Blaster." One of cricket's real superstars, Viv Richards, once referred to Sachin as the "God" of batting.

Vivian Richards stated prior to the 2011 ODI World Cup that India should win the trophy for sentimental reasons, namely as a way to remember Sachin Tendulkar. Viv supported India's win even if it meant defeating his own side, the West Indies.

"There are some reasons why I hope India prevails in this. Over the years, a lot of people have asked me who the "best batsman you would have seen" is. I am familiar with Bradman. I appreciate the pundit's prior opinions regarding Bradman. I could be able to tell him that I saw Sachin when he inquired about me. Thus, I was able to decide what I believed since sometimes, according to the West Indian legend, "seeing is believing."

"In terms of batsmanship, I believe he is God," he remarked.

"I believe that Sachin laid the groundwork for the rest of the Indian team in terms of batsmanship."I hope India wins this cup because I think this will be Sachin's final opportunity," he continued.
