Edin Terzic, the manager of Borussia Dortmund, has stated that they face a brutally difficult challenge in the UEFA Champions League. After leading 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 matchups, DoDortmund will now face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the second leg.
Terzic stated before their match that he is familiar with the history of comebacks in Champions League knockout games and that Chelsea's performance does not correspond to their position in the table.
“From our history this season, we know that sometimes even 2-0 isn't enough to win, even in the 88th minute. Therefore, we have sufficient warning. Chelsea's potential has been demonstrated, and I do not believe that their position in the table reflects their actual performance. “They haven't claimed the points that they have deserved in the last weeks,” Terzic stated.
The German coach insisted that they are looking forward to their upcoming match against Chelsea, despite stating that it will be extremely challenging.
"We are looking forward to it with tremendous respect for our opponents, even though it will be a brutally difficult task for us tomorrow. Therefore, we stand a huge chance of becoming one of the eight most successful teams in Europe this season if we win tomorrow,” Terzic added.
Emre Can, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, stated that his goal is to offer himself to and assist the team during challenging times. They can be one of the champion players in Dortmund's 1-0 win in the primary leg of the tie at the Sign Iduna Park.
"Over the last few weeks, it's just been that I'm demonstrating on the field what I expect of myself, and I hope it lasts for a long time," I said. Can be stated, "My goal is always to perform well, assist the team during difficult times, and offer myself up for the big things, especially the national team."
