  • In the title match, Gongadi Trisha put on a strong performance overall.
  • India won the U19 Women's T20 World Cup for the second time in a row.

India won the U19 Women's T20 World Cup for the second time in a row at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, easily defeating South Africa by nine wickets thanks to another brilliant all-around performance from Gongadi Trisha. Trisha helped India surpass the 83-run target in 11.2 overs with an undefeated 44.

The India U19 team, captained by Shafali Verma, successfully defended the championship they had won two years prior. When the last second came, the whole team, which had gathered close to the square leg boundary, erupted in cheers and ran onto the pitch. Embracing the title victory, Indian U-19 women cricket players were draped in the Indian flag.

With Trisha hitting three fours in the opening over and three more in the fourth, India launched an offensive right away. India persisted even after Reyneke dismissed Kamalini. In the powerplay, India easily surpassed half the target, and Chalke joined Trisha with a chic cover drive.

India only needed 15 runs, but Trisha was dropped on 38 in the tenth over. Chalke hit a boundary in the 12th over to complete the victory. Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament went to Trisha, who scored 309 runs, the most in the tournament.

Earlier, in the Kuala Lumpur title match, Indian spinners combined for nine wickets to wreak havoc on a slow pitch and bowl South Africa out for 82. South Africa's decision to bat first backfired because they found it difficult to counter India's spin attack.

To bundle out the Proteas at a pitiful total, Trisha claimed three wickets while Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma, all left-arm spinners, took two wickets apiece. With 17 wickets taken so far, Vaishnavi is the tournament's top wicket-taker.

Choosing to bat first, Jemma Botha scored 10 runs in the first over by hitting two boundaries off Joshitha VJ. But the next over saw an immediate response from the Indian bowlers, as Parunika got rid of Simone Lourens for a duck.

Jemma tried a cross-bat heave under pressure following a series of dot balls, but she was only able to get a thick edge, which G Kamalini, who was moving to her right, brilliantly took one-handed. Diara Ramlakan was soon removed by Aayushi, joining the bowler's party, and by the end of the powerplay, South Africa was at 29 for 3.

India used relentless dot balls to tighten the screws as runs were hard to come by. With an ambitious lofted shot, South Africa's captain Kayla Reyneke attempted to break the shackles but holed out to long-off, giving Trisha her first wicket of the final. South Africa was reduced to 44/5 in 12.4 overs after Aayushi's fuller delivery rattled Karabo Meso's middle stump.

South Africa's hopes of reaching the three-figure mark were all but dashed when Trisha struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Mieke and Seshnie Naidu after Fay Cowling and Mieke van Voorst put together a vital 30-run partnership to steady the innings. After Vaishnavi dismissed Fay and Monalisa Legodi, Parunika had Ashleigh van Wyk caught off the final ball to end the innings.
