Rohit's team failed in pink ball test and lost to Australia by 10 wickets
Border-Gavaskar Trophy tied at 1-1, Test ended in 1031 balls, Indian players could play only 81 overs
Rohit Sharma's team failed miserably in the pink ball test against Australia. The Indian batsmen, who are known as the lions of the bat, collapsed in front of the Australian trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Scott Boland and lost the second test miserably by 10 wickets in just two and a quarter days and 1031 balls. India lost the second consecutive day-night test in Adelaide. Australia made a comeback with this victory and after losing the Perth Test, brought the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to a 1-1 draw. In terms of balls, this was the shortest Test between India and Australia. Earlier, Australia had defeated India in Indore last year. This Test lasted 1135 balls.
India was able to bat only for 81 overs at Adelaide Oval. This is less than 90 overs of a day. The team could not even reach the 200 mark in both the innings with the pink ball. India scored 180 runs in the first innings and 175 runs in the second innings. Travis Head, who scored 140 runs in 141 balls, became the Player of the Match.
On the third day, hopes were from Rishabh Pant (28), but Starc got him out in the very first over. The rest were Cumminsand Harshit Rana (0). Nitish, who has scored 41, 37 and 42 runs in this series, scored 42 runs with a six. He hit six fours in 47 balls, as soon as he was out, the team collapsed at 175. Cummins took 5 wickets for 57. Australia scored 19 runs in 3.2 overs.
Bumrah cannot bowl from both ends: Rohit
Captain Rohit admitted that Bumrah did not get help from the other end. Rohit said, Bumrah cannot bowl from both ends. Other bowlers will also have to take responsibility. We are not playing with only one bowler. You cannot always expect from Bumrah. Rohit admitted that the batting was not good and could not cross 200 even once. Scored 30 to 40 runs less in the first innings.
Shami's knee is swollen again
There may be a delay in Shami's call for the Australia tour. Rohit said that after playing seven Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches, his knee was swollen again. After Rohit's statement, questions have again been raised about his visit to Australia
Due to defeat
1-India is not accustomed to the pink ball. Coach Morkel also admitted that the team is learning to get accustomed to this ball.
2- The top order did not perform. The opening pair of Yashasvi-Rahul, Virat-Pant did not perform.
3- Rohit has failed with the bat. He could score three and six runs. He has been able to score only 100 runs in the last four Tests at an average of 12.5.
4- Bumrah did not get help from the other end. Siraj took wickets late and Harshit Rana could not perform at all
India at third place in Test Championship
With this defeat the Indian team has lost the World Test Championship
The top spot in the championship points table has also been lost. India is now in third place with 57.29 percentage points. Australia is in first place with 60.71 and South Africa is in second place with 59.26 percentage. India will have to win two out of the next three Tests at any cost to reach the final of the Test Championship
