Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new Cabinet sought continuity while attempting to find a middle ground between allowing BJP leaders some leeway and making room for NDA allies. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar continue to hold their positions as the top four.

CABINET MINISTERS

PM Narendra Modi will take charge of the Department of Atomic Energy, the Department of Space, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and any other portfolios not assigned to a minister.

Amit Shah: The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Cooperation remain under Amit Shah's control.

Nitin Gadkari: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is still led by Nitin Gadkari.

JP Nadda: JP Nadda receives the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers as well as the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan: The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and the Ministry of Rural Development were entrusted to Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Nirmala Sitharaman: The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs remain under Nirmala Sitharaman's control.

Dr. S. Jaishankar: The Ministry of External Affairs is kept by Dr. S. Jaishankar.

Manohar Lal Khattar: Manohar Lal Khattar receives the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

HD Kumaraswamy: The Ministries of Steel and Heavy Industries are given to HD Kumaraswamy.

Piyush Goyal: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is given to Piyush Goyal.

Dharmendra Pradhan: The Ministry of Education was given to Dharmendra Pradhan.

Jitan Ram Manjhi: The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is given to Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy were assigned to Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh.

Sarbananda Sonowal: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is given to Sarbananda Sonowal.

Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu: The Ministry of Civil Aviation is given to Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu.

Dr. Virendra Kumar: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment was given to Dr. Virendra Kumar.

Jual Oram: Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram

Pralhad Joshi: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy were assigned by Pralhad Joshi.

Ashwini Vaishnaw: In addition to being given the Ministries of Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw also keeps the Ministry of Railways.

Giriraj Singh: Ministry of Textiles entrusted to Giriraj Singh

Jyotiraditya Scindia: Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region are given to Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Bhupendra Yadav: receives the Climate Change, Forests, and Environment Ministry.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat: assigned the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture.

Annapurna Devi: Ministries of Women and Child Development were assigned to Annapurna Devi.

Kiren Rijiju: receives the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

Mansukh Mandaviya: Ministry of Labour and Employment and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports were entrusted to Mansukh Mandaviya.

Hardeep Singh Puri: Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas remains under Hardeep Singh Puri's control.

G Kishan Reddy: assigned the Ministry of Mines and the Ministry of Coal.

Chirag Paswan: Food Processing Industries Ministry is given to Chirag Paswan.

Rao Inderjit Singh: The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the Ministry of Planning, and the Ministry of Culture all have Rao Inderjit Singh as their MoS (Independent Charge).

Dr. Jitendra Singh: As Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Earth Sciences, Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Minister of Atomic Energy, and Minister of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh holds several positions of MoS (Independent Charge).

Arjun Ram Meghwal: is the Minister of Law and Justice's MoS (Independent Charge) as well as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs' MoS.

Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao: In addition to serving as MoS (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao is also MoS for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Jayant Chaudhary: holds the positions of MoS (Independent Charge) at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya: The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution is led by Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya as the Minister of State.

Murlidhar Mohol: In the Ministries of Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol holds the position of MoS.

George Kurian: holds the rank of Minister of Minority Affairs as well as Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy.

Pabitra Margherita: is the Minister of Textiles' MoS as well as the Minister of External Affairs' MoS.

Following the NDA's victory in 293 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 election, Narendra Modi was sworn in for a record-breaking third term as prime minister. Despite capturing 240 seats, the BJP fell short of achieving a majority in the Lok Sabha on its own. 272 is the Lok Sabha's magic number.
