Hyundai Creta Electric: Safety and Tech revealed
The Creta EV will be showcased for the first time at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 17.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is prepared to launch the Creta's electric variant. The launch will take place at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 17. Creta EV is anticipated to compete with a number of automobiles, including the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv, MG ZS EV, and Maruti Suzuki eVitara. Hyundai has unveiled the Creta EV's technological and security features.
Tech features
The Creta EV will have a tonne of features to improve experience and convenience.
In-Car Payments: By using the infotainment system of their vehicle, drivers can pay for EV charging directly, which facilitates access to charging stations.
Digital Key: With this feature, you can use a smartphone or smartwatch to unlock, start, and operate the vehicle.
Single Pedal Driving: This system uses a single pedal to accelerate, decelerate, and stop completely.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Both inside and outside the vehicle, the Creta EV can power devices and appliances.

Shift-by-Wire (SBW): This system in the Creta EV makes gear control easier and makes driving more convenient.
A Bose sound system with eight speakers, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated seats are additional features. With a digital cluster and HD infotainment, the Creta EV will have a 10.25-inch dual curvilinear screen.
Safety features
There will be more than 75 cutting-edge safety features on the Creta Electric. Electronic parking brakes (EPB) with auto hold, hill-start assist control, hill descent control, ISOFIX child seats, electronic stability control (ESC) with vehicle stability management (VSM), six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will all be standard.

The Creta EV will have 19 tech-enabled safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane-keep assist, along with Level 2 ADAS. Included in the safety package are features like front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and blind-spot monitoring. As per Hyundai, the Creta EV is constructed with high-strength steel reinforced with hot stamping to guarantee durability and safety.

Range, Battery and Charging Time
Creta Electric will come with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a 51.4kWh pack. The 42kWh version claims a range of 390km per charge, while the 51.4kWh version claims a range of 473km on a full charge. The 51.4 kWh long-range battery variant generates 126 kW (171 PS), while the 42 kWh battery variant generates 99 kW (135 PS).
The Creta Electric can charge from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes thanks to its support for DC fast charging. In roughly four hours, it can be fully charged from 10% to 100% using an 11kW connected wall-box AC home charger. Hyundai claims that the Creta EV will have air flaps to increase aerodynamics and cool critical parts, thus increasing energy efficiency. To maximize charging efficiency and range in colder climates, a battery heater will be installed.
