- Nine children and around 20 other individuals died in a massive fire in the Rajkot gaming zone.
- Three people were detained, including the gaming zone's manager and proprietor.
- Beyond recognition of burned bodies, families' DNA obtained for identification.
According to officials, the gaming area in Rajkot, Gujarat, where a catastrophic fire claimed the lives of over 20 people on Saturday, lacked a No Objective Certificate (NOC) from the fire department.
Based on the facts at hand, there was just one entrance and exit point for the gaming area. Furthermore, thousands of gallons of diesel and petrol were kept in storage in different areas of the zone. Due to this, the fire spread quickly, destroying the entire building.
Up to 28 individuals—9 of them children—have been officially declared deceased as of yet. Members of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) stated that the victims' and their families' DNA samples had been gathered for identification and that the remains had been burned beyond recognition.
Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, visited the scene of the fire on Sunday to learn more about the relief efforts. Speaking with Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his appreciation for the rescue operations. The families of the fatalities and the injured would each receive compensation of Rs 4 lakh and Rs 50,000, respectively, according to the Chief Minister.
Top five developments in the Rajkot fire case are as follows:
1:- The gaming zone's sole entry/exit point stood six to seven feet tall. Due to a Rs 99 per admission plan, there was an enormous queue at the location on Saturday. Moreover, there was just one exit from the first floor. At the TRP Game Zone, 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of petrol were kept for go-kart racing, while nearly 2,000 liters of diesel were kept for generators.
2:-The Gujarat government assembled a five-person Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the occurrence, and they have been ordered to provide a report within 72 hours. After arriving in Rajkot late on Saturday, the crew met with the local government. The SIT's chief, Additional DGP of Police Subhash Trivedi, called the occurrence "unfortunate and sad". He declared that an investigation would begin right away to identify the guilty parties and make sure that a similar tragedy never happens again.
3:-The fire may have started for electrical reasons, according to the Rajkot District Magistrate. That being said, the exact cause is yet unknown. The enormous fire started inside a makeshift building at the TRP gaming area. Four firefighters were dispatched to the scene in order to address the situation and start a rescue effort.
4:-The proprietor and manager of the gaming area are among the three persons who have been taken into custody thus far. Among those detained are Yuvraj Singh Solanki, the proprietor of the TRP gaming zone, and his manager, Nitin Jain.
In Total, six individuals, including Solanki, are the subject of a case brought by the police under IPC Sections 304, 308, 337, and 338 114.
5:-The Gujarat DGP has directed that all gambling establishments inside the state be reviewed in light of the event, with the intention of closing any that are not operating under fire safety permit. The police are to carry out this procedure under the direction of the DGP in conjunction with the municipal fire officers.
