MS Dhoni to bat higher following his outstanding performance, Clarke thinks the Chennai Super Kings player will stick at number eight and only bat higher in dire circumstances. His improved batting is expected to affect game outcomes, by fans. After undergoing knee surgery the previous year, the 42-year-old Dhoni did not play for India until 2019.

Michael Clarke said,

NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni is being urged to bat higher up the order after his outstanding performance against the Delhi Capitals. The former Chennai Super Kings captain, in Michael Clarke's opinion, will stay at number eight and only step up if the game is "on the line.Though Dhoni's perfect 37 off 16 balls at number eight did not prove enough, his devoted supporters think that if he had batted higher in the order, the result would have been different.

Even though Dhoni's undefeated 37 off 16 balls at number eight did not prove to be enough, his loyal fans believe that the outcome would have been different if he had batted higher in the order.

Clarke, a World Cup-winning captain like Dhoni, predicted that the legendary Indian player would continue as the finisher.

He won't, in my opinion. He'll probably remain where he is. Every MS Dhoni supporter, in my opinion, wants to see him rise to the top of the rankings. Clarke told Star Sports, "We've all said throughout his career, he should open the batting."

However, consider this: at this point in his career, he is not the captain. He won't likely come up with the order. In my opinion, he will undoubtedly move up the lineup if there's a game at stake and it's in the best interests of the squad.

"In his brief appearance against the Delhi Capitals, Dhoni struck a fast six over extra cover and then a one-handed maximum over mid-wicket in the 20th over. The 42-year-old, who last participated for India in 2019, underwent knee surgery last year.

"I don't think you'll see him batting in the top five or top six just because he's hitting the ball so well. He's a dancing genius, in my opinion. I've never seen a better finisher than him, I think. Thus, I believe they'll keep using him in that capacity," Clarke remarked.

Steve Smith, the former captain of Australia, suggested that CSK may benefit if Dhoni was ranked higher than seventh."Let's move him up the hierarchy. It appears to me that he hit the middle of the bat tonight. It was truly amazing to see it. I believe Jadeja was genuinely having trouble finding the middle on the opposite end.

They bowled him pretty well, but MS arrived while on strike. He obviously narrowly missed the middle of the bat on his first ball to the boundary and his subsequent ball from there. It was fantastic to witness, and I believe the supporters would prefer to see him raise the order and continue doing so more frequently, Smith remarked.

Even though MS Dhoni hadn't batted in 307 days, no one who was fortunate enough to watch the match could have claimed that the 42-year-old superstar wasn't at all uncomfortable during his incredible 16-ball, 37-run (not out) innings. MS Dhoni's brilliant strategy, which involved knowing that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would not win this match let him to finish as close to the mark as possible while still striking gorgeous sixes, added to the specialness of the innings.

But after the wild innings, MS Dhoni began to hobble, giving the cricket fans some worry. When taking selfies with his admirers and sporting an ice cap on his left calf muscle, MS Dhoni was having difficulty walking. The video alarmed the CSK supporters since they didn't want MS Dhoni to miss the Indian Premier League 2024, which is likely to be his final season of competition.

The "Electric Striker," MS Dhoni

In addition to impressing everyone with his amazing knock at the Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, he was named the "Electric Striker" of the DC vs. CSK IPL 2024 match. The more experienced batsmen were confused by MS Dhoni's innings and wondered if he was truly forty-two.

"I'm not sure how to put it. As a fan of MS Dhoni, I am thrilled about this in one sense—what a knock! Someone is hitting like this at 42 years old; he is hitting them carelessly. Old-fashioned Dhoni! In the first game of his international career, he was dismissed for zero runs in Vizag after smashing an aggressive century against Pakistan in 2005. Former Team India cricketer Kris Srikkanth observed, "He tore into the Pakistan attack in his second match (the fifth)."
