  • A new MacBook Air with an M4 chip might be released by Apple next month.
  • The update is anticipated for both the 13-inch and 15-inch models.
  • It is thought that the new MacBook Air will have 16GB of RAM in addition to the M4 chip.

Apple is apparently preparing for another launch after releasing the iPhone 16e last week. According to reports, the company plans to release the new MacBook Air with M4 chip in March. Apple analyst Mark Gurman reported this. The launch date is still unknown. However, if the report is accurate, we should have more information about the launch date very soon, as March is only a week away. The M4 MacBook Air is expected to launch on March 8, 2024, which is roughly the same date as the M3 MacBook Air was revealed the previous year. According to reports last week, the new MacBooks' shipments may have already started, meaning the launch could happen sooner rather than later.

Upgrades to the new MacBook Air are anticipated to be minimal. According to the limited information we currently have, the new Apple laptop will likely have an M4 chip and, in the base model, 16GB of RAM. Potential enhancements to the device, such as the addition of a Thunderbolt 4 port in place of USB 4 or Thunderbolt 3, are also being reported. According to reports, the MacBook Air will have the Centre Stage camera feature and an optional nano-texture display, which has already been introduced on other Macs with M4 processors.

Apple appears to be very busy in the upcoming months. Apple headquarters will be busy for some time because the new MacBook Air is rumoured to be coming out next month, iOS 18.4 is anticipated to be released in May, and WWDC 2025 is anticipated to take place in June. The M4 Mac Studio and M4 Mac Pro, which are both anticipated to launch this summer, are among the many Apple products that are anticipated to be upgraded this year. According to reports, Apple's M5 chip will be released between October and November, initially appearing in the MacBook Pro. An iPad Pro with an M5 processor isn't anticipated until early 2026, though.
