  • In the 2024 Indian Premier League final, KKR will take on SRH.
  • To get to the competition final, SRH defeated RR in Chennai.
  • The KKR spinners will be the main focus.

The final stop of the Indian Premier League 2024 has been reached. Following 73 matches, numerous exciting games, and a record number of sixes, SRH and KKR have earned their spots in the tournament final. Under the direction of their coach, Gautam Gambhir, KKR has excelled above all expectations. They not only went undefeated in the group stage but also defeated SRH handily in Qualifier 1 to guarantee their spot in the tournament final. On the other side, SRH fluctuated in their performance but yet defeated RR in the elimination stages to get to the championship match against KKR.

Pat Cummins and Daniel Vettori, who are playing in their first season together in the competition, have drastically transformed SRH, who have finished in the bottom half of the table in the previous three seasons. This season, Cummins' magic has helped SRH win so many spectacular games that opponents have been wary of facing the Hyderabad-based team.

The impact of Pat Cummins

Cummins appears to have brought the winning mindset of Australia with him after winning the 2023 WTC Final and ODI World Cup Final. Before the game, Cummins gave Sports Tak an explanation of what made his Australian team so tough to defeat in any championship final.

"The element of chance involved in taking home an ICC title cannot be ignored. We spend a lot of time trying to strike a balance between de-stressing a final and kind of accepting that you will look back on your life and make sure you played the way you wanted to play for a very long time. We've been able to carry over some of the finals' confidence into the next one, Cummins told Sports Tak.

At their finest, SRH have compelled the other team to bowl against them with the sole intention of limiting the run-flow. The Bengaluru team went into a shell and built up defensive fields against RCB throughout the match where SRH scored 287. And as everyone discovered, it was ineffective.

When it came to hitting the ball and hitting targets, SRH collapsed at their worst. Both the captain and the team management have shown confidence in this matter, acknowledging the risks associated with their current strategy but resolutely sticking to it.

THE REVOLUTION OF GAMBHIR

The most evenly matched team in the IPL 2024, however, has been KKR. They have a fantastic batting lineup, two spinners who can completely change the course of the game, and two ferocious and crafty pacers.

When KKR is at their best, they are unbeatable. When things go wrong, KKR can force the game into the last over. With a little help from Shah Rukh Khan, Gambhir's style both on and off the pitch has revived the KKR heyday. Who knows, they might even win their third championship in Chennai on Sunday.

Team Updates

KKR vs SRH: Head-to-Head

This season, KKR has faced SRH twice, and they have won both times. The first match was a thrilling last-over match at Eden Gardens, but the second match in Ahmedabad  was an easy victory. Pat Cummins would be hoping that, on their third attempt of the season, SRH will somehow overcome KKR and prove that three is a charm.

SRH vs. KKR: Team Updates

The best part about today's match is that both teams will have their whole rosters available. There are no injuries among the players, Harshit Rana has not been suspended for his extravagant celebrations, and all of the players headed to the World Cup—aside from Phil Salt—have not withdrawn yet.

Having been on song for the whole of the tournament, one can anticipate a tremendous competition.

Pitch and weather report for KKR vs. SRH

On Sunday, May 26, clouds are predicted to cover Chennai, maybe providing some relief from the heat. Although very light rain is possible, it is unlikely to cause any disruptions to the match.

Who Will Win in KKR vs. SRH?

The players on KKR are more equipped to handle the challenging circumstances at Chepauk should the ball turn, making them a far more adaptable team than SRH. As SRH has demonstrated, though, they can be incredibly fortunate at points in the competition and are frightening. SRH defeated KKR in this match to win the IPL championship.
