Jio has made it very easy to get a new SIM card. We don't mean physical SIM, but eSIM. Now eSIM can be bought and activated from the comfort of your home for smartphones or tablets that support it.
This is quite different from Jio SIM home delivery, where Jio employees come to your home to deliver a new SIM card and complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process to activate the SIM card. With Jio's latest eSIM initiative, anyone can now get a new Jio connection and activate it on their own.
How to buy SIM?
Using Jio's latest "iActivate" service, users can get a new Jio SIM card through the My Jio app. The iActivate process requires users to upload a live photo/video along with supporting documents to activate a new SIM card using the self-KYC process.
To iActivate their Jio SIM card, users will need details such as alternate phone number, email ID, IMEI and EID of the smartphone, which will be unique for each device.
What are its benefits?
eSIMs, or embedded SIM cards, offer many benefits over traditional SIM cards, including:

This new process makes it much easier to buy and own a new Jio SIM, especially in places where there are not many stores to buy and activate a new SIM card. Do note that when you receive a new "iActivated" eSIM, Jio will automatically assign a random phone number, but when you order home delivery, you can choose your preferred phone number from the available options.
