Ranveer Allahbadia and others are facing a police case in Assam for their crude remarks on comedian Samay Raina's "India's Got Latent" show, which have caused a great deal of outrage. On the show, they have been accused of promoting profanity and having vulgar and sexually explicit conversations.

The show also names Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, and Samay Raina in addition to the 31-year-old podcaster.

Although the YouTuber has been the subject of numerous complaints, the Assam police were the first to bring charges. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the action on Twitter.

The social media influencer asked a contestant on the "India's Got Latent" show, "Would you rather join in once and stop it forever or watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life?"

It caused quite a stir, and he was the target of numerous police complaints.

In a letter to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phalsankar and the state women's commission, advocates Ashish Ray and Pankaj Mishra of the Bombay High Court claim that the show's comments amount to disrespect for women and call for action.

According to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act, commentator Rahul Easwar filed a complaint and requested an FIR. Mumbai's Khar police have received a complaint from Nilotpal Mrinal Pandey, a BJP official.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of Maharashtra was one of those who criticised him.

"This is something I've heard about, but I haven't seen it yet. I realised that this was wrong and that it was extremely vulgar. Everyone has the right to free speech, but when we violate the rights of others, that right is taken away. Everybody has boundaries; if someone goes over them, consequences will follow," the chief minister declared.

Allahbadia, who has 1.05 crore YouTube subscribers and 4.5 million Instagram followers, apologised earlier today.

"I shouldn't have said what I said on India's Got Latent," he said in a video message posted on X, the former Twitter. I apologise. Not only was my remark improper, it was also unfunny. I'm just here to apologise; comedy is not my forte.

Unparliamentary remarks have frequently been made about the "India's Got Latent" show, which lets competitors perform everything from comedy, singing, and dancing to poetry and magic.

The participants are known to have made offensive comments about women and people with disabilities in the name of banter.
