The Punjab Kings squad, or PBKS, outperformed the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 31st IPL 2025 match. In an exciting low-scoring encounter, Punjab defeated Kolkata by 16 runs, making new history. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the home team, Punjab, fell apart for a mere 111 runs.

Earlier, the record of scoring the lowest score in IPL was in the name of Chennai Super Kings. CSK had maintained the score of 116/9 in IPL 2009.

Record of lowest total runs also broken
Punjab Kings and Kolkata together scored a total of 206 runs in this match, which is the record for the lowest total runs made in a match in IPL. Earlier, this feat was seen in the Punjab vs Kolkata match in IPL 2009. In that match played in Durban, both the teams had scored a total of 237 runs.
Kolkata batsmen disappointed
