The West Indian batsman began to break free and play some big shots after Deepak Hooda joined Mayers in the middle. Mayers was the night's primary destroyer, as the pair combined for 79 runs.

The opener liked Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel because of his 73-ball innings with two boundaries and seven sixes in just 38 deliveries.

With the quick wickets of Hooda and Mayers, the DC bowlers restored the order. Nicholas Pooran assumed the role to regain momentum after Marcus Stoinis also struggled to make an impact.

The West Indies batter scored 36 runs in 21 attempts to give the LSG innings some late momentum. Ayush Badoni likewise played a decent appearance and Krishnappa Gowtham, the Effect Player for LSG, polished things off with a six of the last ball as LSG arrived at 193 runs in their 20 overs.

DC got off to a quick start thanks to 41 runs from Warner and Prithvi Shaw in 4.2 innings before Wood decided to wreak havoc. In successive conveyances, the Britain pacer fortified both Shaw and Mitchell Bog to place LSG controlling everything.

Sarfaraz Khan was then fired by Wood because DC was 48 for three and had a lot of trouble in the chase. Before Ravi Bishnoi trapped the South African batter in front of the stumps, Rossouw and Warner temporarily stabilized the ship.

DC was left reeling at 94 for five when Bishnoi cheaply acquired the dangerous Rovman Powell. Warner did reach fifty, but his innings were slow, and he was struck out for 56, effectively ending the DC run chase.

Although Axar delivered a few lustful blows, he was Wood's fourth victim of the day. The England pacer then took out Sakariya for his first IPL five-wicket haul, leading LSG to a 50-run victory.
