India A team defeated South Africa A by 4 wickets in the first unofficial ODI match. With this, the Indian team, captained by Tilak Varma, has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Centurion Ruturaj Gaikwad was the hero of India's victory in this match. In the end, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Nishant Sindhu played crucial innings and took the team to victory. In the end, Harshit Rana hit a six and took the team to victory in 49.3 overs.

Ishan, Abhishek, and Parag flopped

Ishan Kishan, who appeared in blue after a long time, failed to deliver, scoring just 17 runs off 21 balls. Abhishek Sharma, the No. 1 ranked T20 batsman, failed again in ODIs, scoring just 31 runs. Riyan Parag also failed at No. 3, scoring just 8 runs.

Nitish and Nishant's innings came in handy

Captain Tilak Verma, along with Rituraj, anchored the innings, but he took 58 balls to score 39 runs, hitting just two fours. Finally, Nitish Kumar Reddy played a brilliant innings of 37 runs off 26 balls, hitting three fours and a six to lead India to victory. Nishant Sindhu also made the victory easy with an unbeaten 29 off 26 balls. 67 runs were needed from the last nine overs when Nitish and Nishant came to the crease, but the duo easily secured victory for the team.

Ruturaj's brilliant century

Rituraj Gaikwad played a brilliant century. Wickets fell from one end, but he remained at the crease. In this innings, he scored 117 runs off 129 balls, including 12 fours. However, he was ultimately unable to lead the team to victory. He was clean bowled by Tiaan van Vuuren. Nevertheless, it was his innings that helped India A to victory.

South Africa A's comeback in the first innings

Earlier, South Africa A, who won the toss and elected to bat first, had a shaky start. At one point, they lost three players for one run. The score was 16 for four, and then they were down to 53 for five. Three of the top four failed to open their accounts. Subsequently, Diane Forrester, Delano Potgieter, and Bjorn Fortuin all scored half-centuries.

Diane Forrester made 77 off 83 balls, Delano Potgieter 90 off 105 balls, and Bjorn Fortuin 59 off 56 balls. With the help of these three, South Africa A scored 285 for 9 in 50 overs. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana took two wickets each. Prasidh Krishna, Nishant Sandhu, Riyan Parag, and Nitish Kumar Reddy also took one wicket each.
