Great start from India

India did not let the South African team, which came out to chase the target of 177 runs, get a good start. Jasprit Bumrah bowled Reeza Hendricks on the third ball of the second over. In the third over, Arshdeep got South African captain Aiden Markram caught by Rishabh Pant. He was out after scoring four runs. Meanwhile, Quinton de Kock had set foot on the wicket. Tristan Stubbs supported him. However, Stubbs lost his wicket due to his own mistake. He wanted to hit the ball of Akshar Patel outside the off stump but missed and was bowled. Stubbs scored 31 runs.

De Kock and Klaasen strike

Stubbs' departure did not affect De Kock and he kept scoring runs at a stormy pace. Heinrich Klaasen started hitting long shots in his usual style. De Kock was looking dangerous. Both the batsmen were playing the spinners well, so Rohit called back Arshdeep Singh. Rohit's move worked and on the third ball of the 13th over, De Kock got caught by Kuldeep Yadav at deep square leg. This left-handed batsman scored 39 runs in 31 balls with the help of four fours and a six.

In the 15th over bowled by Akshar Patel, Klaasen scored 24 runs and from here, the match seemed to be going out of India's hands. In the 16th over, Rohit called Bumrah back. Bumrah gave only four runs and brought India back into the match. Hardik Pandya dismissed Klaasen on the first ball of the 17th over and turned the match in India's favour.

Catch of Suryakumar

David Miller was still alive and was a threat to India but Surya Kumar Yadav, who failed with the bat, took a stunning catch of Miller on the first ball of the last over and almost ensured India's victory in the match. Hardik Pandya saved the remaining runs in the last over and gave India the victory.

Kohli's strong innings

The hero of Team India's victory was the player whose bat was completely silent before the final. There were talks of dropping him from the team, but Virat Kohli showed why he is great in this match. Kohli played an innings of 76 runs in the final. His innings came under pressure. Rohit Sharma (9) was out in the second over. Rishabh Pant could not even open his account. From here, Kohli played a responsible innings. He shared a 72-run partnership with Akshar Patel.

Akshar Patel could not complete his half-century. He scored 47 runs in 31 balls. In his innings, Akshar hit four sixes and one four.

Dubey supported
