India defeated New Zealand in the tournament's last group stage match, confirming their semi-final lineup for the Champions Trophy. The victory put India at the top of the Group A table and guaranteed them a spot in the tournament's semi-final, where they will play Australia.

To play South Africa in the tournament's second semi-final match, New Zealand will take an early morning flight to Lahore on March 3. The tournament's first semifinal is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, in Dubai, and the second semifinal is scheduled for March 5.

In a low-scoring thriller on Sunday, India bowled out New Zealand for just 205 runs after bullying them with 37.3 overs of spin. The bowlers from India put up an incredible effort to both stop the run flow and take wickets under pressure while defending 249 runs. Despite Kane Williamson's patient 81-run knock, India bowled 45.3 overs and held New Zealand at bay.

In his first Champions Trophy match, Varun Chakravarthy was the star of the show for India, taking five wickets. Varun secured his first 5-wicket haul in ODI cricket by outwitting Will Young, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, and Matt Henry with his mystery spin.

Road to semis: IND vs AUS; NZ vs SA

In the Champions Trophy, India has been the most dominant team. They are the only team in the group stage to have won each of their three games. The team's opponent will be Australia, who defeated England in a thrilling chase and then went on to defeat Afghanistan in their final group stage match before the rain started to pour in Lahore. Rain forced the cancellation of Australia's match against South Africa.

In contrast, New Zealand defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh handily before losing to India in their last group-stage match. They will play South Africa, who have dominated Afghanistan and England in their group stage matches and have looked outstanding against spin.

New Zealand and South Africa will return to Lahore to play in the tournament's second semi-final, while India and Australia will play their knockout match in Dubai.
