Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, was admitted to the hospital following an accident.

On the microblogging platform X, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had sustained "major injuries" in an accident. Pictures of the CM lying on a hospital bed were released by TMC. As per sources that reference an official declaration, the Chief Minister was admitted to SSKM Hospital at approximately 7:30 pm due to a suspected cerebral concussion. She had fallen close to her house "due to some push from behind," leaving her with a deep gash across her forehead and nose that was bleeding heavily.

According to the Trinamool Congress, Banerjee was tested and given a few sutures at a government-run hospital before physicians determined she was stable enough to be released.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I pray for a quick recovery and the best health for Mamata Didi".

"I'm wishing Mamata ji courage and a speedy recovery," senior Congressman Rahul Gandhi continued.

"Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee reported to our hospital today around 7:30 pm with a history of falling within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind," stated the medical staff at SSKM hospital, where CM Banerjee is being treated. She was bleeding heavily from a deep cut over her forehead and nose, as well as from a cerebral concussion.

Mamata Banerjee had blood over her face and a large cut in the center of her forehead in the pictures that TMC released. The chief minister was sent to the state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata's Woodburn Ward after suffering injuries at home.

After returning after a program, the 69-year-old politician fell inside her south Kolkata house in Kalighat, according to her family.

"After falling inside the house, she was brought straight to the hospital."

Stitches were needed since she was bleeding from the forehead, her brother Kartik Banerjee said to a Bengali TV channel.

"Mamata Banerjee, our chairperson, suffered a serious injury. Kindly remember her in your prayers," the party wrote on X.

Mamata was admitted to the hospital by the TMC national general secretary and her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, according to party sources.
