Ashraf, Atiq's murder: In Prayagraj, shooters posed as media representatives, and authorities are on high alert.

On April 15, gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed was shot to death in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. As he was being examined by a doctor, Atiq, who was under arrest, died. What we know thus far:

Atiq Ahmed, a gangster who became a politician, and his brother Ashraf were killed in Prayagraj. He was shot point clear. They were being taken to the MLN Medical College in Prayagraj for a medical examination when the firing occurred nearby.

  • The UP Police immediately apprehended all three of the shooters who were responsible for Atiq and Ashraf's deaths, with Maan Singh, a police officer, suffering a minor injury.
  • Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny Kaushik, and Arun Maurya have been identified as the three perpetrators of the crime.
  • The Police Commissioner said that all three of them were journalists who had come. He added that a member of the media was also hurt in the incident.
  • While they were interacting with the media, a forensic team reached the location where both were shot and killed.
  • Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, summoned ADG Law and instructed Prashant Kumar to leave the state following the unprecedented incident. The main clergyman is leading a significant level gathering.
  • An Uttar Pradesh Police constable supported a hand injury during the assault on Atiq Ahmed and his sibling Ashraf on Saturday.
