WPL 2025: Mumbai Indians have once again entered the final of WPL. In the eliminator match, Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated Gujarat Giants and confirmed their ticket to the final. Now they will face Delhi Capitals, which has already confirmed its place in the final, for the title. Whichever team wins this match will be declared the winner.
Gujarat Giants team lost the match by 47 runs
Mumbai Indians won the eliminator match played against Gujarat Giants by 47 runs. Earlier, Mumbai Indians batted first and scored a huge score of 213 runs for the loss of four wickets. For Mumbai Indians, opener Hayley Matthews played a brilliant innings of 77 runs in 50 balls, while Nat Siver Brunt also scored 77 runs in 41 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 36 runs in just 12 balls. Gujarat Giants batsmen looked helpless in front of Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Giants had a big target of 214 runs to win.
Gujarat's wickets kept falling at regular intervals
When Gujarat Giants' team came out to chase the target, the first wicket fell soon in the form of Beth Mooney. She could score only 6 runs. After this Harleen Dewal got out after scoring 8 runs. Gibson did struggle a bit and scored 34 runs in 24 balls. But she too could not stay on the crease for long. Bharti Phoolmali did keep the team in the match by scoring 30 runs in 20 balls, but as soon as she was out, the match was almost over. The sequence of wickets falling continuously continued and the team was not scoring runs. In the end, the whole team together could score only 166 runs and lost the match by 47 runs.
The final will be played on March 15
The final of the Women's Premier League will now be played on March 15. When the teams of Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will face each other. The Mumbai Indians team has won the title once, while the Delhi team will try to win the WPL title for the first time.
