However, 132 newly elected MLAs of BJP have not yet received information about attending the legislative party meeting. Even no formal talks have been held on the division of departments among the three parties involved in the Mahayuti.
On Thursday night, in a nearly two-hour-long meeting between Maharashtra's caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and NCP leader Ajit Pawar with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, preliminary discussions were held on the form of the government. In the meeting, Eknath Shinde was told that the Chief Minister would be from the BJP, but the name of the Chief Minister was not announced.
There is also a problem regarding the division of departments
The three leaders were asked to decide the rest of the matters of government formation by holding a meeting in Mumbai. According to unconfirmed sources, there is also a problem regarding the division of departments between BJP and Shiv Sena. Eknath Shinde wants that just like Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had the Home Ministry in the previous government, similarly if he becomes the Deputy Chief Minister, he should get the charge of the Home Ministry.
Apart from this, he is also eyeing the Assembly Speaker and Urban Development Ministry. Whereas, BJP does not want to let go of the Home Ministry under any circumstances. Shinde faction leader Sanjay Shirsat has also said that after being the Chief Minister once, Shinde does not want to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister. He wants to make someone else the Deputy Chief Minister, but the situation will be clear on all these matters only after the meeting of the three parties of the Mahayuti. This meeting is likely to take place only after the election of the leader of the BJP Legislative Party and Eknath Shinde's return to Mumbai.
Eknath Shinde went to his village
After returning from Delhi to Mumbai on Friday morning, Eknath Shinde went to his village in Satara. His going away from Mumbai is being said to be due to his displeasure, but now information is coming that his health is not well there. He has high fever. Apart from this, he has also gone to his village to participate in the worship of his Kul Devta. Some senior leaders of his party also say that Shinde has gone to his village not due to any displeasure, but with the intention of getting health benefits.
