When Rajasthan and Gujarat square off in Indian Premier League (IPL) Match No. 24 on Wednesday, April 10 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, legendary batsman Brian Lara has backed Rajasthan to defeat Gujarat. Having won all four of their games thus far, the Royals are arguably the tournament's best team. With 8 points and a net run rate of +1.120, Sanju Samson's team is presently leading the table.
The Titans, on the other hand, have only won two of their last five games and are currently struggling at seventh place in the table with four points and a net run rate of -0.797. Lara, who continues to hold the record for the highest individual score of 400 in Test cricket, predicted that Rajasthan would win their fifth straight game and claimed that they had all their bases covered.
"Rajasthan is my favourite and truly exceptional. Everything is covered by them. They haven't lost in the tournament yet and are playing good cricket. Lara stated on Star Sports Cricket Live, "I don't see the Gujarat Titans doing it."
‘GT will come back well’
Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu, another former cricket player, believed that GT had the means to mount a formidable comeback against Rajasthan. After a few defeats, the veteran thought Gujarat wouldn't be psychologically shaken.
"The Gujarat Titans are an excellent team, and they have performed admirably thus far. These few losses don't seem to have changed anything about their team or mindset. Based solely on the law of averages, I believe the Gujarat Titans will defeat the Rajasthan Royals, and I'm confident they'll return well," Rayudu stated.
The Titans defeated the Royals four times out of five in head-to-head play. GT defeated RR by nine wickets in their last encounter.
