'Occupations were made in the name of Waqf at many places', CM Yogi alleged
He stressed that under his government such encroachments have been removed and mafias have been driven out of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a frontal attack on the Waqf Board on Thursday, accusing it of land encroachment and asserting that its arbitrary claim on public and historical sites will not be tolerated for long. Addressing a public meeting at Shringaverpur here, he said, "You are seeing the encroachment on the mythological land of Nishadraj here.
There have been encroachments in the name of Waqf at many places in the city. Even during the Kumbh, statements were made that the land of Kumbh also belonged to the Waqf. We asked if the Waqf Board had become a land mafia.
Praised PM Modi and Amit Shah
He stressed that under his government such encroachments have been removed and mafias have been driven out of Uttar Pradesh. He said, "Many places, including the holy land associated with Nishad Raj, were encroached upon in the name of Waqf. But this will not be allowed to happen.
Despite their objections, a grand and divine Kumbh Mela was organized." The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for taking legislative action against the alleged irregularities of the Waqf Board.
He said, "We are grateful to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister that they have curbed the arbitrariness of the Waqf Board. An important bill to resolve this issue has already been passed in the Lok Sabha and now it will be passed in the Rajya Sabha as well." The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday and introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Yogi Adityanath said the state will no longer tolerate illegal claims and national interest has to be put first. He said, "Those who are loyal to the nation will always find their way."
Maha Kumbh gave a lot to the country and the state
Addressing the public meeting, the chief minister said, "Mahakumbh 2025 gave a lot to the country and the state. Such a big event can only be organized by Sanatan Dharma followers and Ram devotees.
Those who do not have loyalty towards the nation cannot organize such a big event." He said, "Our Prayagraj is no longer Allahabad in the ordinary sense. Now it has become Prayagraj.
Prayagraj means Maha Milan Sthal. Those who used to hide the identity of Prayagraj did not want this mythological city to get an identity because their vote bank was important to them."
Yogi Adityanath said, "Mahakumbh has given recognition and respect to the people here in the country and the world. If a person gets recognition and respect, then nothing is better than this. The previous governments were ending this identity.
They were handing over Uttar Pradesh to the mafia and developing a mafia in every district." Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Fisheries Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad, and many MLAs attended the program.
