After becoming the most expensive player in Indian Premier League history, Punjab Kings all-rounder Sam Curran has stated that he is not putting too much pressure on himself. Curran was purchased by PBKS at a miniature auction in Kochi in December for Rs 18.50 crore.
Curran told Sky Sports that he doesn't put too much pressure on himself and just focuses on the game. He also said that the price is what it is. In order to acquire Curran's services, PBKS resisted interest from the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals.
"I suppose they purchase you for a reason, and they have a lot of faith in me," I concentrate on the bat and ball rather than placing too much pressure on myself. I hope to put on some good performances. Curran stated, "The price tag is what it is."
He went on to say that he hoped he could alter PBKS' fortunes and assist them in winning their first IPL title in 2023. With victories over the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders, PBKS have started the 2023 season on a winning note.
It is still early in the competition. We've done well so far, but this is a long tournament, so we need to take each game one at a time. In Chennai, I had two fantastic years. Although Punjab haven't won it yet, I hope to alter their fortunes. Curran added, "I am just trying to enjoy it and take it one game at a time."
Curran had a splendid ICC Men's T20 World Cup with Britain, who beat Pakistan by five wickets in the last to win the sought after prize. Curran won Player of the Tournament for his 13 wickets and 6.52 economy rate while bowling.
Subsequent to dominating their initial two matches, PBKS are set to clash with SunRisers Hyderabad in their next match at the Rajiv Gandhi Worldwide Arena in Hyderabad.
