On Thursday, world champion Argentina rose to the top of the FIFA rankings for the first time in six years. Brazil's one-year reign at the top was ended by Argentina's two wins in friendlies last month. Brazil dropped two places to third after losing 2-1 to Morocco.

The runner-up at the World Cup, France, moved up one spot to No. 2 underneath Argentina. France defeated the Netherlands and Ireland, both ranked sixth, in European Championship qualifying matches that it won consecutively.

Argentina currently holds the lead with 1840.93 points, followed by France (1838.45) and Brazil (1834.21), while Seleço has lost 6.56 points.

Belgium remained No. 4, England following after two victories, including a victory over No. 8 Italy. Europe finished the main 10 with No. 7 Croatia, trailed by Italy, Portugal, and Spain.

Morocco remained at No. 1, joining the Spanish and Portuguese in a bid for the 2030 World Cup. 11 to lead teams from Africa.

The United States remained the No. 13, two ahead of Mexico, a rival in the region. The other North American co-host of the World Cup in 2026, Canada, moved up six spots to No. 47.

Japan, at No. 20 was the best Asian team, and Qatar, the host nation for the 2022 World Cup, dropped to No. 61.

With 1200.66 points, the Indian men's football team has moved up five spots to 101st in the world. In an Imphal friendly tournament with three nations, the Blue Tigers defeated Myanmar (1-0) and the Kyrgyz Republic (2-0).

Under the direction of Igor Stimac, India is ranked 19th in the Asian Confederation, with Japan ranked 20th worldwide.
