Former PM Imran Khan is granted bail by a Pakistani anti-terrorism court.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), requested an extension of his pre-arrest bail in front of an anti-terrorism court in Lahore. He reiterated that he is in danger of dying from "serious threats."

A court official said that Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, appeared before an anti-terrorism court here on Friday and obtained an extension to his pre-arrest bail until June 13 in three cases, including an attack on the residence of a top military commander in Lahore.

Khan, 70, reiterated that he faces "serious threats" to his life when he appeared before the ATC Lahore amid high security.

In addition, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party appeared before the Lahore High Court to ask for an extension of his bail in the case of PTI worker Zille Shah's murder. His bail in the case has been extended until June 6 by the Lahore High Court.

"In the ATC, Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar inquired as to why Khan is not participating in the investigation into the incident involving the attack on Jinnah House, also known as the Lahore Corps Commander House. After the hearing, the court official told PTI that Khan informed him that he was facing serious threats to his life.

"He (Khan) said that he had asked the investigators to let him join the investigation through a video link, but they said no. However, the judge ordered him to participate in the investigation and extended his bail until June 13, according to the official.

When the cricketer-turned-politician Khan was arrested by the National Accountability Board (NAB) from the premises of the Islamabad High Court in a corruption case on May 9, there was violence all over Pakistan. Two days later, Khan was granted bail and released.

More than 20 army bases and government structures remembering military central command for Rawalpindi were harmed during the May 9 pandemonium that has been named as the "Dark Day" throughout the entire existence of Pakistan.

During the violence that resulted in over ten fatalities, more than 100 police and other security agency vehicles were also set on fire.

Khan, on the other hand, stated that the violence resulted in the deaths of over 25 PTI workers and the arrests of over 10,000 PTI workers across Pakistan. Some of them, up to 4,000, are from Punjab.
